#AtoZChallenge: Ragnarök Prophesies

R

This is my first year participating in the A to Z Challenge. The list of participants can be found here. Thanks to Arlee Bird and the co-hosts for hosting this awesome challenge. Check out the site here.

I’m also participating in a mini-hop that got started on theme reveal day when a few of us realized we had similar themes.  It’s called Supernatural A to Z. Click below to check out the list of participants.  🙂

Today is about the Ragnarök Prophesies. It is a series of events that would involve a major battle that would lead to the death of a number of great figures that would include Freyr, Loki, Odin, and Thor. There would be natural disasters, and the world would be under water.  I was lucky enough to review the first two books in a series that has the Ragnarök Prophesies in them. The review of both books is below.

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of the books in exchange for an honest review.

The Ragnarök Prophesies: Book One

What do you do when you realize nothing in your life is what you’ve believed it to be?

When Arionna Jacobs loses her mother in a tragic accident, her world is turned upside down. She’s forced to leave her old life behind and move in with her father. Dace Matthews, a teaching assistant at her new college, is torn in two, unable to communicate with the feral wolf caged inside him.

When they meet, everything they thought they knew about life unravels. Dace has intimate access to Arionna’s mind, and something deep within her fights to rise to the surface. They don’t understand what’s happening to them or why, and they’re running out of time to sort out the strange occurrences around them.

Their meeting sets an ancient Norse prophesy of destruction in motion, and what destiny has in store for them is bigger than either could have ever imagined. Unless they learn to trust themselves and one another, they may never resolve the mystery surrounding who they are to one another, and what that means for the world.

My review of Book One:

Great book. I couldn’t put it down. A.K.’s writing style is great. I love books that involve Norse mythology. The world and the characters A.K. has created are great. We are introduced to Arionna as she moves in with her dad and starts to learn things around town are not what they seem to be. She meets Dace. They start a relationship. Along the way they learn things about themselves and their relationship that sets into play an ancient prophesy. I would highly recommend the book. It’s a great read for anyone who loves books that involve mythology, shapeshifters, and other beings. I look forward to reading more books by A.K.

The Ragnarök Prophesies: Book Two

How do you save someone who doesn’t want to be saved?

Those called to stand guard against the end are broken, and Sköll and Hati run free. Now Arionna Jacobs and Dace Matthews face a threat unlike any before. Ragnarök is coming and they aren’t strong enough to stop it.
Arionna thought she understood sacrifice, but she never counted on her destiny tearing Dace apart. Ever since she nearly died, he has been consumed with guilt. Now it threatens to turn him into the monster he always feared.
It’s up to Arionna to stop him before it’s too late, but the path to hell is paved with good intentions, and Dace is hurtling toward self destruction. This time, Arionna isn’t sure she can save him from himself. Can she convince him to let the past go, or is her true destiny to sacrifice her heart in exchange for the lives of the people she loves?

My review of Book Two:

I couldn’t put it down. In this one we find Arionna and Dace still fighting the enemy tied to the prophesy. They are learning more about their destiny and the parts they play. Arionna is trying to keep Dace from self destruction but is scared she can’t. There are a few twists and turns that will keep a person reading the book. Arionna faces things that would send a normal person down for the count but Arionna isn’t normal in the sense of the normal. There are a few extra qualities to her. Want to find out what they are then pick up copies of the first book and this one. It’s a great series. I look forward to reading more of it.
